2010 NKF Transplant Games

9 days until the games!!!!

Team Wisconsin has set a record for the Games!  We will have over 600 members, the largest team in the history of the Games!!!!  Not only will we have the largest team, there are nearly 2000 individuals registered for the 5K Race for Organ, Eye and Tissue Donation.  That too, is the highest number of registrants in the history of the Games!  Wisconsin will set the bar high and leave their mark on the Games!!!!

We'll be headed to Spring Green Friday morning so Emma and Rece can participate in the first night of their softball tournament on Thursday in Hilbert.  A big THANK YOU to our friends the Breckheimers and Stumos for volunteering at the Games.  They will be working Friday night at the welcome/registration tables.

Items in blue above are events Rece will participate in.  I am helping coach the volleyball teams this year so I highlighted that in orange.  There is a daily events fee for most events (unless marked free).  The cost is $5 for Wisconsin residents with a valid ID.  We would love to have as many family and friends as possible there to cheer Rece and the rest of the athletes on.  The one event I highly recommend attending is the Opening Ceremony.  This is an AMAZING event.  It will definitely bring tears to your eyes to see the the courageous donor families, living donors and recipients coming together to help spread the word about Organ/Tissue donation.  Make sure you pack tissues!

I will be updating the blog during the Games adding pictures along with the daily posts.  Thank you to our families that are making the trip with us.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

So, check back next week for posts from the Games.  Take care!

Hey, Sweeres! Glad to see you're participating again--and coming to Mad-town, too. We'll see if we can manage to hit an event and see Rece compete. We'd love to see you all--it's been too long!
