Spring is here!

Again I have failed at keeping this blog updated. I can't believe how quickly the year went by. It's already May and the kids are looking forward to summer vacation. We've been VERY busy this year with all sorts of activities. Tony is always busy with his administrative duties at the schools. This year he became the Cub Scout leader for Rece's wolf pack and he started coaching track again. He is a volunteer coach so he does not feel required to be at all the meets if something else comes up (like the kids soccer games, spring concerts, etc.). I think he's really enjoyed the track season and getting to know the kids outside the school building. I think it's been good for them to see him in a different light as well.

My days/nights are slowing down as well. This year I became a Girl Scout leader and a Destination Imagination manager for 2 teams as well as coaching volleyball, being secretary for the PTO, taking piano lessons and running the kids to their various activities. The Girl Scouts will end their end on the 21st with a ceremony and my DI teams both took 2nd place at the regional competition. This was a great experience for both the kids and I. We were all new to DI and I as well as the kids were very pleased with a 3rd place finish. I've decided not to continue with piano lessons next year as I'm finding it really hard to find time to practice every day. I've refreshed my memory and found the love again so I'm hoping when our piano gets here I'll be able to sit down and play when I feel like it.

Tony and I are looking forward to our first trip without the kids. I will miss the kids terribly, but we never really had a honeymoon so this is a long overdue trip for us. My brother, CJ, his fiancee, Julie, my cousin Allison and her hubby Dan will be joining us with some friends of ours, the Stumos and Breckheimers. We've rented a beautiful house in Isla Mujeres, Mexico for a week. The only thing I want to do their (besides sitting by the pool and on the beach) is to swim with the whale sharks! My cousin Chris lives there and he swam with them last summer and said it was unbelievable! I can't wait!

Emma is doing well in school. She kept us the busiest this year with all her activities. Piano, dance, religious education, DI, Girl Scouts, Bitty Ball and now soccer. She loves all her activities but with Rece getting older and more involved, it's harder for mom to coordinate all the schedules so she will have to limit her activities next year. Emma was very excited to be a part of Allison and Dan's wedding in April. Even though she had to miss her dance recital and her first soccer game, she said it was worth it!

Rece is doing well. He was busy too with religious eduation, wrestling, cub scouts, bitty ball and now soccer. Rece never gets to finish out the wrestling season because his cath always falls around the last week or two of the season. Speaking of his cath, everything went great! He did have a little bleeding from his vein (not the artery this time) so it wasn't as bad but it was as we were getting ready to leave so we ended up having to stay a little longer. His coronary arteries looked great and his biopsy results were a zero! His cradle cap is almost gone and his molluscum are going away on their own. We don't have to see the dermatologist again unless the I am still continuing to treat the molluscum in 3-4 months. He had a dental check up in April. No cavaties this time but we will be going back in June to have his chipped tooth bonded and have a special floride treatment put on his front tooth to help with the lack of enamel.

Jack finally loves school. Especially when he gets to ride the bus. I've signed him up for summer school to keep his interest going. Health wise, Jack has been doing great! He will see the card. team in June again. He will also have to have a small cavity filled in June. That will be interesting!

We've added a new member to our family. Her name is Elle and she is a 4 year old golden retriever. We got her from my cousin Teresa. Elle had a litter of pups in November and ruptured he uterus delivering 12 babies. Once the babies were weaned and gone to their new homes, we went and picked her up. She has fit in quite well with our family. Our biggest concern would be how Mia handled it and she seems to be okay with it. Elle is very passive and stays out of Mia's way. Mia will be turning 12 this weekend and her age is definitely starting to show.

Well, I think that is all for now. The weather is too nice to be inside sitting at the computer! Take care!
