Fourth Post from Transplant Games

TUESDAY, JULY 15, 2008 11:00 PM, CDT
SILVER!!!
Rece received a silver medal in the 1K bike race today with a time of 2:30. He sped down the hill and around the corner in Lance Armstrong style. We took some neat pictures with the rest of the cycling team from Wisconsin. We were all so proud of him!!!
Back at the hotel, Rece lost some silver. One of his teeth (with a crown) fell out. It is now under his pillow awaiting the tooth fairy's arrival.
Before the closing ceremonies started, Rece presented Ron DeGolier with a plaque. It was a picture of Ron racing his bike on the front cover of the NKF's publication. The rest of the ceremony was amazing. They had several people speak and sing. Several awards were presented and the icing on the cake was the announcement of the 2010 US Transplant Games host city: MADISON!!!! We are all so excited to be able to host this wonderful event. We will be looking to all of our family and friends to help raise money for Team Wisconsin.
This has been a life affirming trip and we are so grateful to Children's Hospital for sponsoring us. We have made lifelong friends here and we are looking forward to seeing everyone at fundraisers in the next 2 years. Thank you to everyone for being so generous and gracious to the "youngest" member of Team Wisconsin and his family. We love you all!
